Insurance Questions

You Asked, We Answered.

These are the questions we hear every day from homeowners who are about to file their first storm-damage claim.

Will my insurance premium go up if I file a roof claim?

Storm damage is considered an Act of God, not driver-controllable. Most carriers do not raise individual premiums for a single weather-related claim, though area-wide rate adjustments per zip code can happen after major storms regardless of whether you file.

How much will a new roof cost me out of pocket?

On an approved insurance claim, your only out-of-pocket cost is your deductible — the amount varies by policy. We handle invoicing your carrier directly for the rest.

Do I need to get three estimates?

No. Insurance companies may suggest three estimates, but you have the right to choose the contractor you trust. The goal of an insurance restoration claim isn't the cheapest bid — it's documenting the storm damage properly so the scope reflects everything needed to restore your home (gutters, flashing, ventilation, decking, code upgrades, and the rest). At Roof Trade Pro we walk you through the process, explain the scope clearly, and protect your right to choose the contractor you feel confident in.

What if the adjuster denies my claim?

We'll request a re-inspection and meet the adjuster on the roof to present additional evidence. We have a strong track record getting initially-denied storm claims overturned with photo and meteorological documentation.

How long does the install actually take?

Most full residential replacements are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex roofs (multi-pitch, slate accents, steep grade) can run two days. We always tarp roofs to mitigate damages and show the carrier that we are preventing more damage from occurring.

What warranty do I get?

You get the manufacturer's limited lifetime shingle warranty plus our 10-year workmanship warranty. Both transfer to a new homeowner if you sell.
